Peyton Austin

Chief Local Strategist

  • Peyton Austin is a member of the Class of 2026 in the Walsh School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics and minoring in Chinese. Born and raised in Hong Kong and currently living in Basalt, Colorado, Peyton was introduced to MUN as a sophomore in high school, and since then he’s never looked back. He has competed with Georgetown's collegiate MUN team and staffed NCSC, NAIMUN, and DistrictMUN, Georgetown’s college, high school, and middle school Model UN conferences. Peyton was also on the staff of SDG Youth Summit II and has served as a training deputy for GIRA Local’s training programs. He is excited to serve as Chief Local Strategist this year and deliver a fun (and educational) experience to students across the DMV area!

Emma Hu

Director of Community Programs

  • Emma Hu (she/her) is a member of the Georgetown University Class of 2027, studying International Politics in the Walsh School of Foreign Service with a certificate in Asian Studies. Originally from Shanghai, she has called the Virginia area home for the past eight years and proudly identifies as a DMV native. A dedicated member of GIRA since her freshman year, Emma previously served as Director of Outreach for GIRA Local’s Community Programs; she is excited to return this year as Director of Community Programs and to continue serving her hometown. Outside of school and work, she enjoys traveling, curating playlists, watching soccer, and playing board games with friends.

Caroline Sippel

Chief of Staff

  • Caroline Sippel is a member of the Walsh School of Foreign Service class of 2027, with a major of Culture and Politics and minors in Public Health and (hopefully, if her credits work out) Art History. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but currently lives in Reston,Virginia. She has served as the Under-Secretary-General of Historical Crisis for NAIMUN LXII, Georgetown’s conference for high school students, as well as a staffer for NAIMUN LXI, and NCSC LXI, NCSC LXII, and NCSC LXIII, the conference for college students. Caroline began Model UN in her freshman year of high school and never looked back, especially in regards to historical crisis committees. However, competing was never really her style: education and community always backed her love of the extracurricular, driving her to join GIRA Local during her sophomore year as a Crisis Manager for DistrictMUN V.  Besides Model UN,  Caroline is also on the board of Georgetown’s chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta, a host on Georgetown's radio station, a cast member of Georgetown’s Rocky Horror Picture Show, and a lifeguard for the on-campus pool. Her greatest passions are caffeinated beverages, rock music, and her dog. Seeing the ways in which Model UN and international relations can impact students of all ages drives Caroline to continue pursuing her passions, and she hopes this drive is shown to all of those involved in the program.
