FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will lunch be provided?

Delegates will receive a complimentary pizza lunch. Registered delegations will be sent a form to identify delegate dietary restrictions and ensure all delegates have access to the summit’s food options.

What’s the best way to get to Georgetown University?

Delegates can use the D.C. bus network, the metro network, or private transportation. For delegates using the bus network, the C91 bus route stops at Georgetown University’s front gates. This bus line also stops near the Dupont Circle metro station. Delegates using the metro should exit at Rosslyn or Dupont Circle stations, as Georgetown does not have a metro stop within walking distance. There are a variety of bus routes from these stations to the Georgetown neighborhood. Delegates may also use private transportation. Delegates in private buses or cars should plan to be dropped off at Georgetown University’s front gates.

Does GIRA Local Provide Parking?

GIRA Local does not provide parking for the SDG Youth Summit. Georgetown University does not provide parking benefits to student groups, including our on-campus partner, the Georgetown International Relations Club. Delegations will need to pay for their own parking, identify alternative off-campus parking, or select an alternate method of transportation.

Who hosts the sDG Youth Summit?

The SDG Youth Summit is hosted by the Georgetown International Relations Club (GIRA) Local, in partnership with the Georgetown International Relations Club (GIRC). GIRA is a 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit dedicated to youth education in international relations, while GIRC is an on-campus club affiliated with Georgetown University. Both organizations are student-run and staffed by Georgetown University students.

What Can Advisors Do During the Summit?

Advisors may work on campus or attend the summit. Advisors will have access to an advisor suite where they can work or keep their personal items for the duration of the summit. Advisors will also be free to attend any of the Summit’s programming and follow their students through the day.
